For this debut book by a distinguished NASA scientist, we explored the world of data through a glitched pixel aesthetic. The cover design features digital distortion that creates a compelling visual tensity, while a deliberate tear in the cover creates a window which reveals the book's core concept.
The background feels like deep space with hints of stellar atmosphere, a subtle nod to the author's NASA credentials. The glitch effect represents data corruption challenges, but also serves as a metaphor for the breakthroughs that emerge when scientists decode complex information systems.

We created every diagram, graph, flowchart and table to make this complex subject matter accessible and insightful with a highly streamlined look so they all look similar in a consistent style.

Each chapter opens with custom-designed pixel art imagery to connect visually with the digital data noise of the front cover. Elements of the cover flow over into the interior for a more seamless reader experience.

We developed a tailored list layout that mimics specific JSON code structure.
