Printed books
Print books for uploading to Amazon or IngramSpark
After having designed the cover and the interior of your book, we produce two PDF’s for you to upload to Amazon or IngramSpark:
- 1 PDF for the front cover, spine and back cover
- 1 PDF for each and every page of the book interior
- 1 PDF for the front cover, spine and back cover
- 1 PDF for each and every page of the book interior
Once the interior is completed and we know the number of pages, we will determine the width of the book’s spine and finalise the book cover PDF.

Print production management for limited editions
Some authors prefer an unusual book size that Amazon or IngramSpark can't print-on-demand, and want to have a limited edition of their book printed by a traditional printer.
In those cases, we offer print production management. This is the process of overseeing the creation of printed books, from initial design to final delivery, ensuring quality, efficiency, and timely completion. It involves coordinating various stages like design, proofing, printing and binding while managing timelines, budgets, and resources.

This is the process of overseeing the creation of printed books, from initial design to final delivery, ensuring quality, efficiency, and timely completion. In this case, we also produce two PDF’s:
• 1 PDF for the front cover, spine and back cover
• 1 PDF for each and every page of the book interior
The printing company uses these two PDF’s to print the cover and the interior. After that, they will also bind the book.
As we have been managing print production for over 40 years, we know the exact possibilities and limitations of contemporary printing and binding processes.
Our print production management
• presenting a selection of capable printers
• getting in quotes
• setting timelines
• discussing the different options of available materials
• helping the author to choose the look of the finished product, by discussing cover materials, embossing, paper types, inks, spot varnish, end papers, reading ribbons and headbands.
e-Books
Most authors want both a print and electronic version of their book. We work with Vellum, an e-book design programme that produces beautifully looking e-books suitable for Kindle, Apple, Nook, Kobo and Google.
Author branding
Creating personal branding is crucial for authors because it helps build recognition, trust, and a loyal readership in an increasingly crowded marketplace. Six reasons to consider working with the professional branding specialists at Leaps & Bounds:
1. Reader recognition and loyalty
A strong personal brand helps readers instantly identify an author's work across different books and genres. When readers connect with an author's voice, values, and style, they actively seek out new releases and recommend them to others.

2. Market differentiation
With millions of books published annually, authors need to stand out. A distinctive brand—built on expertise, personality, writing style, or thematic focus—creates a unique visual trigger that readers can easily recognise and follow.

3. Cross-platform consistency
Modern authors must engage across multiple channels: social media, websites, speaking events, and interviews. Consistent branding of their book covers, website, presentation decks and promotional materials ensures that the message and image remain coherent wherever potential readers encounter them.

4. Professional credibility
A well-developed brand signals professionalism to publishers, agents, bookstores, and media outlets. It demonstrates that the author takes their career seriously and understands their target audience.

5. Long-term career building
Strong personal branding creates momentum that compounds over time. Each new book benefits from the established reputation, making subsequent launches more successful and building toward sustained career growth rather than starting from scratch with each release.

Our author branding services
For authors writing book series, we create covers that strike a perfect balance—each volume has visual distinction to work as a standalone book, while also featuring unifying design elements that clearly connect them to the author's broader body of work.
We also design and produce:
• book mock-ups for ads and posts on social media channels
• book trailers to add to the author’s Amazon profile
• presentation decks for PowerPoint or Google Slides
• flyers or brochures to promote the book on speaking events and book fairs
• author business cards
With strong personal branding we help authors become recognisable and trustworthy voices that readers actively follow.
