The challenge with trilogy covers lies in achieving the right balance between unity and distinction. Each cover needs enough coherence to clearly belong to the same series, while maintaining sufficient visual differentiation to stand alone as individual volumes. The warrior motif provides that common thread, while the specific armour, weapons, and styling of each era's fighter creates the necessary variation between books.
This approach allows readers to immediately recognise the series connection while understanding that each book explores conflict through a different historical lens.
